Man arrested for shooting Jags' player
I am so glad the police got the guy who shot the Jax Jags player 14 times. I hope he spends the rest of his life in jail. Collier, the Jags player, is paralyzed from the waist down now.
I know this is an isolated incident, but the question now becomes, why are players who live/reside in FL seem to be targets more than any other state? Sean Taylor killed in Miami, a top High School prospect killed in Belle Glade last month, an Eagles player shot in attempted car jacking in Miami, etc... and now a Jags player shot and paralyzed. These guys have become targets, and I even heard a while back that players who reside in Miami are encouraged not to live there.

I am glad also. However, I don't know the circumstances of the shooting, except that he was waiting in a car in the wee hours of the morning.
I don't think athletes are targeted, specifically.

I agree with Titanium, I don't think this had anything to do with him being an athlete.
This was not at all random, the shooter and the victim knew each other and had an incident in the past.
Athletes are public figures, and when they have an altercation with someone, they don't exactly fade into memory when they're on tv every week.
