I have a family of four consisting of two adults and two children (7 and 2), and I seem to be having trouble finding childcare around the community of world golf village. I have been looking online and in the yellow pages but nothing comes up. Hopefully we will be relocating soon to the st johns county area so my oldest will be going to mills creek and I'm not sure what I am going to do with my 2 year old as for she will be needing a daycare. If anyone could share some info on any that may be around or in the area that would be great. Also if anyone would like to add some information on the overall area of heritage landing that would also help because thats probably where we will be moving to. How safe is the neighborhood? what is there to do for leisure activities besides golf like a movie theatre or arcade for my oldest? and my favorite shopping!!! is there shopping nearby like a mall or something?, all I have heard of has been the belz outlet but I have never been. Thanks and I hope to hear some feedback!!!

My family and I will also be moving there this summer from South Florida, originally from New York. Here's what we've found out, there is a day care called Roots and Wings near the WGV area. As for shopping, there is a small shopping center in the WGV area that has a Publix (food store), Chinese food, sub sandwich shop, dance studio, and a few other stores. They are building everywhere and I think in a few months or year, there will be many many more things to do. As for now, you can get anything you want in just a few minutes drive (15 or 20) but things are definitely coming to the area. Where are you moving from? From what we've seen, we are very excited and can't wait. Are you also aware of the new school boundaries? My understanding is that the kids from Heritage Landing will not go to Mill Creek anymore, but will attend the new Elementary and Middle schools (not named yet) that will open this school year 2007. If there is anything else you have a question about, please let me know as I've been researching this area as well.

We are coming from south Florida as well (pembroke pines) and actually I am on the road right now heading up there. We will be meeting with a realtor this time around and she will be showing us the whole area and amenities. Apparently this place has a 6.5 millon dollar amenities center with water park and all as told by our friendly realtor. Also I must mention that this place is coming up or has to because there are multi-million dollar homes in a subdivision. Called the king and bear. Some of the homes that we will be seeing tommorow are priced around 200-230,000. They are mostly new construction and some older but not more than a few years old. The square footage on this price range are 1500-1950. The thing I loved the most is the association fee in this sub are 75 dollars a year with a ccd fee of 2100 a year but it gets divided into your mortage payment, it's almost like an extra assoc fee. I don't mind that because i'm paying almost 500 a month with mine now. Overall the schools are excellent and there will be more to this area soon. I don't want to jinx it so I will give more details when I get back! Thanks for your feedback and I hope you find my information helpful.

I have lived in Heritage Landing for one year now. It's a nice community, with a beautiful ammenity center. However, to be honest, there seems to be a rise in crime right now and I think it is because there are so many renters in Heritage Landing. Teenagers are vandalizing the signs, destroying mailboxes, breaking into the RV storage area, and I've heard of fights at the basketball courts. Mill Creek is a wonderful school, however all the Heritage Landing kids will be going to a brand new school this fall. The principle was formally at Mill Creek so he is good. Shopping isn't far. The Avenues Mall is wonderful, about a 20 minute drive to Jacksonville. The outlets are great. Jacksonville has a Chuck E Cheese and a Dave and Busters for the kids.
