Default ISR--Infant Swim Class for Intense Toddler???

I'm new here and have heard mixed things about the ISR swim program. Currently my 2.5 year old can kick but hates to get his face wet. He has a very intense personality--e.g., breaks blood vessels on his face from crying so hard at the doctors office. I would love for him to learn to swim quickly with all this water, water, everywhere, but I don't want to traumatize him.

Does anyone have experience with the program

Thanks!

Does he have the same personality and reactions when mom/dad aren't around? My kids are sometimes have 2 different faces when we're not in their presence.

I've never done the ISR program but was around when my step-mom put my half-brother through it (whatever it was called 20 years ago) She had to leave, since it was rough to watch. But, the instructor did a GREAT job with him.
