I know there are private tennis clubs, tennis centers with fees but what about public hard courts that are free to use? (prefer hard courts instead of clay courts.)

Thinking of relocating to JAX, probably into Riverside area, looked at the city's website for this info but it was unclear. What about Riverside Park, free tennis courts there? are they lighted? in good condition? Any other public parks with free tennis courts close to Riverside/Downtown?

No courts in Riverside Park.

There are very well known courts in Boone Park, in Avondale. I think there's a very small fee to use them (a few bucks) or you can become a member (not very expensive). They are well maintained, of course.

San Marco has courts directly next to their library, on Hendricks Ave near I-95. They are also very nice and popular, not sure if there's a fee or not.

Springfield has 2 free courts near the corner of W. 5th & Boulevard. They aren't always well maintained though.
