Just a reminder...even though it will be a cold start, we still plan to meet at the bank parking lot at 8, break into groups and go from there. The good folks of Shantytown will also be hosting the lunch afterwards. We need for anyone interested, to come out and help.

There is a Springfield organization that clears weeds etc every second tuesday of the month. Our church, First Baptist, went out with them this last April 9th, and it was a tremendous success. Does anyone know the name of the group and who to call to join?

Sure.

SPAR (Springfield Preservation And Revitalization) has a commitee called the "Block Captains" that organize these, among other things.

Here's a feature about the clean up you mentioned: Block Captains and FBC Stage Massive Cleanup | mySpringfield

Their website is www.sparcouncil.org or shoot the Executive Director an email at brenda@sparcouncil.org . She's nice.

Also, if you're intersted, the 2011 Historic Home Tour is this weekend...and is going to be pretty darn amazing: Historic Home Tour 2011
