For highrise condos, do they usually have to interview you before they'll even let you have a chance to go through the process of renting from them. I'm thinking of relocating from texas and the condos are starting to catch my eye. I'm wondering what kind of processes different from renting an apartment or home do you have to go through for a condo if any. Also if anyone has any suggestions of any that would be kid friendly that would be appreciated.

Different condos have different rules. You should check with the condos that are of interest to you. Robyn

A condo community will usually require that their own board screen prospective tenants, in addition to whatever the landlord/PM company does for screening. I don't know that there's any difference between the 2 screenings.

I am renting a condo, near the end of my lease, and I simply dealt with the owner. I do not think it is common to have board review of renters, especially in today's market where many owners are so underwater that renting is the only option for them.
