I'm considering a move to Jacksonville, but don't know the area at all. Doing my research. What are some areas to avoid all together? I have a wife and baby. I want peace and quiet. I'm not a rich guy so an area that is affordable, but not bad. Also not too far like exceeding 30 miles from Lillian Road because I heard that is where our church would be located.

Lillian is in the Arlington Area, so I'd stick to that side of the river.

I'd probably look a little further east down atlantic or beach maybe around the hodges/kernan area. Somewhere there or in between.

North Jacksonville from the Trout River and encompassing the numbered streets on the east and west sides of 95 (numbered streets above 15 on the east side and likewise for the west side of 95) are rough. Zip code 32218 (the zip I reside) encompasses more of the nicer, middle/upper-middle class neighborhoods of North Jax. On the Westside, 103rd St. is both commercial and residential. The side streets of 103rd and in the vicinity are where it goes down.
