well anyway back to the thread, if this happened to me I'd contact our union attorney who would tell me if this was legal. If not legal, we'd file a grievance.
ohhhhhhhh dont say that to south hes a die hard Republican. lol.
I guess you'll just have to quit then (and have THAT on your record) and put to the test your claims that anyone should be able to get another job in 3-6 months......
I agree I think he should quit to, he was really over worked for a whole week.

Ehh what? I've worked over 70 hours three weeks now, and for at least three weeks coming, then they have to cut it... At least that was the word today, but it keeps changing...
Your boss sounds like an insecure mega-*****. She's trying to trap you. I'd of course keep looking. The price you might pay is well worth it. She seems to think she owns you.

Just going by what you tell us, you were going to quit because you got worked to hard for a week.

I guess I am still trying to figure out how a bank teller-- works 70 hours a week.
Even Wachovia/Wells Fargo in my local area is only open to the public for 45 hours a week. Even if they had you come in an extra two hours a day (an hour before opening, an hour after closing) that would still only be an extra 12 hours on top of the 45 = 57 total hours and that is assuming you would get absolutely no unpaid lunches.
I have known many who have worked as bank tellers-- and I have never known any who had a job so integral to the operations of the bank that they had to be there 70 hours a week.
