Looks like Southbound has been terminated . . . by city-data.

That's it. I've been going in at 8 and usually leaving around 7:30 Monday through Saturday because we just rolled over to a new way of processing checks which requires that we stay several hours late to process and make the changes to our ledgers.
So wheelsup, next time instead of making a fool of yourself because you don't have your facts, why don't you ask a question first? Pretend you're an adult at least...
You make several broad, simplistic, and very generous assumptions 1) that McDonald's even has openings, 2) would interview you among the dozens if not hundreds of other out of work people seeking employment, 3) would choose somebody like yourself who is more likely to quit when something better comes along over a high school, college kid, retiree or someone else more likely to stay than you. Your prospects and likelihood of hire are exceptionally unrealistic but I'm glad that you are not worried about them. You better hope that you don't ever have to put it to the test either as you will be in for quite the reality check.
Such a good point. I too have always had the attitude, "If things ever got bad for me, I'd gladly go work at McDonalds." It sounds noble, but really it is arrogance, plain and simple. I'd like to think that McD's would be lucky to have me, but let's be realistic: If I owned a McD's franchise and needed a new employee, would I hire me to run the register? Hell no. That would be a bad business decision.
Yeah, OP could apply for unemployment if fired, but would be denied. Because you aren't eligible if you are fired for cause, which includes breaking a policy or rule. The boss has told her of this rule, and if OP continues, they would not be awarded benefits.
Ok I general agree with you however, on this I find a problem. At will employement general means one can leave the company at will or the company can terminate you at will.
If the OP is terminated for looking for looking at other opportunities the company cannot denied her unemployement benefits, because by law she has not done anything wrong, as long as she interviews after hours and her interviewing dosnt effect her obligations to her current employer.
To have a rule that states you cannot interview with other employers is actually clausable and couldnt be enforced legal which mean even if they did denied your unemployment benefits you would still receive them on an appeal decision.
But I dont think I would want to collect unemployment when I can collect my paycheck.
Also most companies in my experience will not expose that confidential information because most employee's that are currently working are more desirable than an employee that is not working, the train of thought to the other company is if your current employer wants you than you must have a good set of skills which makes you in demand in that area.
I normally put my current employer down as "Confidential" I speak of the industry and I leave out the name and I have never had any problems with that.
If an employer was to tell me I couldnt keep my resume updated or I couldnt entertain the possibility of other opportunities I would look elsewhere no one will be with you forever, the days of pensions and retirement are pretty much over so dont let anyone sell you that dream.
