I was browsing some resume samples today and saw one that caught my attention. On the resume, below education it said “Paid 50% of college tuition as well as all personal expenses out of pocket through part-time college and full-time employment”.

Well, I financed 100% of college expenses out pocket with full-time study and full-time employment, I graduated with zero family help and zero debt, I actually ended up saving over $40,000 while going to college and working.

Every time I interview, my interviewer loves the fact I paid my way through school, 9 times out of 10, I have them dancing around.

Is this something I want to put on my resume?

It would look out of place on a resume. But it is a good topic to bring up in an interview, as you have done, if the topic comes up.

Would be completely meaningless for me if I saw that on a resume.

Meaningless, and bordering on obnoxious. I don't think it matters how education was paid for, as long as you're bringing something to the table. A resume is for work history, and education accomplishments, not a financial background.

That's what I figured, no hurt asking though. I'll continue to discuss this at future interviews, however.
