I've had situations happen before where an applicant shared my contact info with other people and I started getting resumes and phone calls from complete strangers.
Wow that's unusual and very unprofessional on their part.
I've never had this happen. But, it's possible that is the policy for the company you interviewed with. If you feel it went well, then, sit back, relax, and wait to see if they offer you the job or invite you back for another round of interviews or whatever the next step in the process is.

That's what I am going to do. They are my number 2 pick. It was just a bit strange because this was more of a junior sales role with only a 2 step interview process over the normal 3 and the recruiter said the day after she should have an update which I haven't seen.
I am just treating this interviews like sale prospects just keep plugging away don't expect too much, it's a numbers game. When I view it from this perspective, I don't get upset or offended like I did before. It's just a business transaction.
They may give you cards with fake emails and numbers so they don't get bothered. I had one place say to me , HR will communitcate with you when I asked for a business card I got the hint!

I will give my card to applicants if they ask, however all contact is through HR. If the applicant sends me a thank-you card or e-mail that's fine, but if they were to call and ask me anything about the interview or hiring process I would have them call HR as per our policies.
I've encountered this several times already. The last few interviews I've gone on didn't even have business cards. One of them told me the same thing that they told you about strict policies on handing out cards and if I had any further questions to contact HR. So I guess it's not uncommon practice? Who knows.
