It's funny how none of the so-called HR Gurus on this forum have stepped in to this thread to provide their 2 cents like they normally do.

We have an overabundance of low skilled people applying for technical experienced jobs.

Two generations of people have been fooled into the "everyone needs to go to college" scam instead of entering trade schools or apprenticeships.

A degree in English Literature will not get you a technical job....no matter what people tell you.

Bring up the entry-level wages for those trades and more people will attend trade schools.

It's simple, really...

The silver lining is that kids are starting their own little companies.

What about the employers for non-technical jobs claiming no suitable candidates? Like retail.

Employers can team up with a school to train a workforce. Co-Op it even.

We are living in a time where there are unprecedented numbers of high skilled workers on the job market. The fact that HR is talking about talent shortages is just proof positive of their staggering incompetence at being able to do their jobs and hire qualified employees and further why they really need to be taken out of the forefront of the hiring process.

I agree some employees are too picky, they want you to know how to do everything and expect little training...
