I am updating me resume and I have a dilemma. I have a previous job that I worked at for 9 years. During that time, I left that company to work at another company where I stayed for a year then was recruited back to my previous so I returned to that job.

Fast forward, on my resume should I just put that I worked at job A for 9 years or do I put -job A 6 years -job B 1 year -then job A 2 years? It just looks messy putting job A-B-then A- AGAIN,but I do not want to appear like I am hiding anything. I did not get fired from either job so references are not a problem.

Any ideas on how to best organize this?

Include the year long job.

Consider putting down reasons for leaving both company A and company B. Being recruited back by company A puts you in a very good light. If you don't inform them of this on your resume, someone may think you left the job in haste only to realize your mistake later - thus the return.

You could put that information in your cover letter, but not everyone will read, or carefully read, a cover letter, so I think it's better placed on a resume.

Was there a change in job title when returning to company #1?
If there was, that alone is self-explanatory.

But you do need to put both companies.
