I had a job interview this week with a large company (across the country - flew in for the day), I was told ahead of time it would be behavioral-based, one hour long, and who would be present at the interview. Almost immediately once the interview got started the hiring manager broke the ice, made a joke, and basically took over the conversation - it became very informal and conversation based, we didn't stay on script (they had a predetermined list of questions that we occasionally referred to).
For the most part, I felt very comfortable (almost too comfortable for an interview) and we mostly spoke about my past work and some resume points, the time flew by and we actually ran out of time and didn't cover all the questions that were per-planned (maybe covered half)....has anyone ever interviewed like this before? Would this be considered a good thing (easy conversation) or bad (didn't cover all the questions)?

No idea, but the last interview I had that went that way resulted in an offer.
Its pretty hard to really know if it means your interviewer has a personal casual style and can't stay on task or if you made a special connection. Keep your own interactions friendly but professional when you send your thank you notes/emails. Good luck!

I would consider it good... especially given how time ran out. To me it means that they were pretty comfortable and got along with you.
The last two jobs I landed had similar interviews.
That is the best way to interview. You could be the smartest person around but if your personality sucks I wouldn't hire you. I am sure they found out everything they needed to know when he asked about past work and resume.
It's usually good sign. But strange they would fly you in from afar and have you meet only one person for a pre-set amount of time (1-hour).
Sorry, I didn't specify the amount of people - there was three people on the interview panel (HR, hiring manager and a lead from the group).
