Hello,
I am looking for a job with manual labor in the central Ohio area. I am 16 and really wanting to work. I am one of those few kids wanting to actually get out and work, and I mean really work, not sit behind a cash register at some stupid McDonald's. Unfortunately, you have to be 18 to do any of that. Who wouldn't want a 6'7", 275 lbs. 16 year old? I REALLY want to get big(ger), without using the gym as much, but also make money to buy parts for my Jeep. Right now, I've turned in an application at my local TSC and garden center in landscaping (I think), but I wanted to know of any other place anyone could think of. Please help!

you want to work on your jeep?

why not find a mechanic jobs locally? not in any shops but just post your own ads as a "drive way" mechanic. Small, simple things but also ones that can pay well. You would need to manage your income/tax returns but that's a skill you need to pick up eventually anyways.

Golf courses seem to need physical labor jobs over the summer but I don't know Ohio... are they big on golf there?

Is there an old car lot? not to sale cars but recycling them. You'll learn more about cars from people there if you really are interested in that.

There's more openings for outdoor jobs that aren't "clean" like landscaping where they don't really get dirty outside of digging a hole...

In my area, your best bet would be detasseling corn or seasonal farm work. Other options might include being a stocker at a grocery store or big stores like Walmart, Menard's, etc.

A big guy like you would do good putting up hay! Being so tall you are perfect to ride the wagon. You don't walk much but you handle every bale of hay and its a good workout.

What about a summer job for a moving company? Around here about all you see are young kids in the moving trucks in the summer time. I think they pay somewhere between $10/$12 hr to start and you can get all the manual labor you want. On a side note.... kudos to you for wanting to work! I started working at a very young age and attribute that to my success now. Keep it up!
