I'm trying to get work but I got gaps on my resume. Lets say I interview at a company and HR requests my last pay stub at a past employer. Lets say I worked at the past employer for only 2 months but put down on my resume that I worked there for 3 years. Can HR through a background check find out through the pay stub that I only worked there for 2 months?
A background check is usually done through a company, such as Hire Right. They will contact the company's HR department to verify employment. It depends what information HR will release, but usually, the position held and length of employment are released, from my past experiences.
