Love the ambiguity of stuff huh?

So, just got a new job and they asked me to start thinking of things that I need to get started. The examples given were a laptop, phone, etc.

I am curious what your employer pays for, and/or what you've managed to get them to pay for?

Are you in an office? Do you work from home? What kind of job do you have?

Guess that is helpful to know

I would be handling customer relations (sales / marketing / advertising / customer support are some of the roles) from in an office and traveling to visit customers one-on-one.

I have a desktop that I like, a laptop that I like, and my previous employer paid my cell phone bill. They're actually keeping it active and I'll pay them monthly for it (cheaper for both them and myself). That's at least one thing I can see if they'll pick up...

But I don't really need a new laptop nor a desktop.

Laptop or tablet, phone and dual monitors for the office, and cell phone. Office supplies, software, office furniture. They would not allow us to use our own phone or computer for business, because they would not "own" the data and be able to get that data back if you quit or get fired.

Most of my employees are remote employees. This is what I provide:
Desktop and laptop computer with internet access.
Company provided smartphone and plan.
Contracted travel service.
Company leased vehicle and rental cars.
Access to a remote site office or use of an executive suite if needed.
Travel trailer when needing to be on site for extended periods.
Use of corporate credit cards, vendor access for supplies, and copy/mailing services.

However the most important items the employees appreciate are the items they get that makes them glad they work for the company and not someplace else.
