Any people on this site or forum that's a fellow nanny?
I ended my last nanny job back in July, and I "moved" (I say moved with quotations since they weren't permanent) cross country looking for a new job and a new 'start' and didn't find a job.
Wondered if there were better cities or places than others to look for work?
I've only worked in Northern VA (near DC). Tried to look for work in Portland, Oregon, San Francisco, and Boston so far (although I'm not IN Boston right now-that may have something to do with it).
not a nanny but a mom. Have you signed up with care.com or similar sites? That's where a lot of people go to search if they can't find someone via personal connections. You can also try going to parks and playgrounds in your target areas and trying to make friends with other nannies. Once you are in the nanny network, you can get referred by them. Also start with babysitting gigs so you can build your own connections - even if a family you sit for doesn't need full time care, they are likely to have friends and neighbors who do.
