I asked my recruiter for a status update on a job and I was told today that the job I interviewed for 2 weeks ago has not been advertised and it will be a few weeks before it shows up on the company website. Basically, I interviewed ahead of time. I had applied for another position at the company and didn't get the job after an interview, but they liked me so much that they said I was the right fit for their company culture and wanted to get me hired (that's what they really said), so they shopped me around for another position (the one I'm competing for now) in the same department (they want to keep me in the family so to speak) where I would do well. I asked him if that meant that the hiring process would start all over again once the job was advertised online, to which he simply replied "you wouldn't have to come in for another interview". I have no idea what the heck is going on. All I know is that this job--which I really want because it's such a great opportunity--could take months to fill. Has anybody gone through this? And what are your thoughts?
They let you interview before the process started because of the situation. You interviewed. The job will be posted soon. Then they will interview your competition. After this they will select someone to move forward and it may or may not be you.
