How long do most background checks take? At what point should I be worried if I haven't heard back? Do they call you regardless of if you pass or fail? I received a written offer via email that was contingent upon passing a background check and I was wondering what I should expect as far as hearing back (I don't have anything to worry about, I want to know for planning purposes). Just wondering what other peoples experiences were.

They take anywhere from 1 to 3 weeks depending on how many places you lived, how busy they are etc. In my experience you always hear back one way or another.
