I was terminated from a county job in 2015 and prior to that I was laid off from the bank in 2012. I spent 2 months with the county job. What caused my termination was due to PTSD. Anyway if I leave out the county job on my resume I would have a huge gap between the bank and currently, but by adding the county job I would still have a gap but not huge. Any suggestion?

It's a huge gap either way.

Personally I would just leave it off.

Are you saying you have nothing to fill 10 years?

Whatever you have been doing, volunteering, taking care of kids, relatives, just put it in.

If that county job involved skills, abilities, experience that would be necessary for the job you're interested in, kind of hard to avoid mentioning it in some fashion. You don't need to say you were fired per se, just that you held the job from this to that date. They may not want details, only evidence that you've done that sort of work before and can handle it again. Can you?

First, don't omit any jobs you have on your resume. Gaps are horrible.

Second, you don't put the reason for leaving on the resume. That can be covered in a cover letter or application.

Third, 2015 was seven years ago. What have you been doing since 2015?

I took time off after as I was getting therapy, and was driving my (former) elderly neighbors to their appointments, pick up meds, to the store or wherever they needed to be at meanwhile sending out resumes which I didn't have no luck.

So you were doing this for 7 years?

THAT is the gap you need to worry about, not some 2 month gap from 7 years ago.

Why would you add a job that you only worked for 2 months?

Then you want to voluntarily providing the reason why you were fired?

You were effectively unemployed for 10 years.

How long did you worked the county job in 2015? Were you fired as well? Am I going to see a trend there?

This. That two month job is not going to make you look any better. It will actually make you look worse.

Doesnt sound like you took time off to me. Sounds like you were "providing at home elderly care which provided transportation, appointment scheduling, medical transportation, home cleaning and other medical care as needed."

Don't put it on or put down that you worked for 6 months. Then make up that you were working for an independent catering/delivery company driving clients to and from appointments . Use a friend's number as the company, and instruct friend to make up a company name. Chances are they won't call anyway. You have to survive. Don't feel guilty. Just do it.
