I was working for a temp agency and had a few different assignments over the period of about several months. The last assignment ended in a layoff (not fired)... and I am looking for something else. The temp agency hasn't come up with anything for me and quite frankly I am not wanting to work with them anymore due to their poor handling of the last assignment, so I haven't technically worked for them since the layoff.
So, on my resume, do I still put "November 07 (when I started with them) to present" for the time period of employment with that temp agency? I am still officially considered "active" with them as far as having continued to occasionally inquire about new jobs and letting them know I'm available.
Or should I put the last date I actually was on assignment when I was laid off? If I put the last date I actually WORKED for them then I'll have a gap. Is a reasonable gap (while job searching) acceptable? I always read employment ads where they want all gaps explained. Are they talking about normal periods of job searching as well when they ask for this?
