Hmmm, Sg--die, I presume you do not care to answer the question I asked you, and now Al--a is doing it too !!!!

It's called respect, Marianinark.

Jewish folks don't type the word G-d out of respect for taking the Lord's name in vain.

I'm doing out of respect for the Jewish folks on the forum.

Why don't you start a new thread and see if you can generate an answer that's a little more detailed....or....use google.

But I did answer you. G-d cannot be contained within the dimensions of the word as fully spelled out. There is not a single word capable of containing the meaning nor one that should be used for another purpose.

In antiquity it was also probably a way to differentiate between the god(s) of the pagans who were represented in solid form, ie, statues and the like, and the all dimensional G-d of the Jews.

Even then, If they feel its not respectful to say God and would prefer to say G-d then thats something they have full rights to do.

I agree with this. And I also think if christians want to be respected for their beliefs, they should show a little respect for others particular beliefs..Nit picking each other is why non christians, and unbelievers can not take us very seriously..

Not true. Barring your own, no posts by any Christians on this thread have been at all offensive.

I will avoid offending the jews on this forum, and hope they reciprocate.
