As I put it to friends up this way, "The Chiefs did what the Chiefs do."

And as I see it, what the Chiefs do is this: Their offense sort of sleepwalks through the first half while the defense keeps the opponent from running up the score too much.

Then, during halftime, Reid, Mahomes and the rest of the offensive line figure out how to play the rest of the game and proceed to kick butt in the second half.

But much as they did in the game against the Buffalo Bills, they didn't really kick butt as much as they did claw their way back to the top because the opponent was that formidable. But claw they did, to the point where they tied the game and sent it into overtime for only the second time in Super Bowl history.

And the Chiefs have a change in the NFL's postseason overtime rules to thank for the win. The old rule (which is still the rule in the regular season) is that the first team to score once both teams have had a chance to possess the ball ended the game, unless the first team to possess the ball scored a touchdown on its initial possession, at which point the game ended regardless. Now both teams get possession of the ball for at least one set of downs in postseason OT, regardless of what happens on the first team's first possession. That enabled the Chiefs to prevail after the Niners scored a field goal.

Great game all around, though, and Mahomes is the GOAT.

The victory parade is 11:00AM on Wednesday(2/14). Lots of traffic in and around KC, plan accordingly.

News reports of a mass shooting at the victory parade... at least 20 shot, including at least 9 children, and at least 1 dead. I believe the police have caught one shooter, anyway. These early reports are often revised in the first after such an event. It's clear though, that it is a major tragedy. What is wrong with people???

Very tragic, senseless act that occured after what was supposed to be a meaningful celebration. Players, coaches, and fans from all over have expressed concern, and condolences.
