My wife and I are actually planning on trying to do the exact opposite in the next few years.

I'll take Miami over KC anyday.

Dont get me wrong, I love KC but you cant beat Miami weather and access to the ocean.
I'd never personally want to live in Miami. My gf's parents moved there and couldn't stand it, they moved in less then year to Vegas, which is much nicer.... i loooooove vegas way more then Miami. One of my best friends also moved there (Miami) for work before moving to Los Angeles. I wouldn't live in Vegas either tho... but it beats Miami IMO.

I'm in my 20s, I thought Miami was nice, I had a lot of fun there... but it's just that a place to visit only. The people are the rudest people i've ever met. The beaches SUCK... straight up suck... they are covered with people, it's not a place to relax, or even party IMO... cuz you can't do anything since theres a billion people crowded on to them. The gulf side has much better beaches. The humidity is horrible.... KC has horrible humidity too, but nothing like Miami.

And the people are crazy superficial.... I actually met several guys who had pec implants LOL. Tho I didn't mind all the girls with boob jobs =P On that subject people talk about the hot girls, but I didn't see it. I saw some hot girls, but I see hot girls in KC all the time too so big deal. I actually looked this up cuz me and my gf were like WTF... Miami is supposed to have the best looking people, turns out it has a ton of good looking people around spring break when people from other places go there.

Beaches really tho, they had to be the biggest disappointment. Nightlife beats KC tho if you want way more options... thats just a fact, they got a lot to do. Your money won't get you very far there tho... my friend who has student loans to pay off and lived with 2 roommates and made 50k/a year could barely afford to do anything.

This is not a knock at the OP or anything, just my experience and thoughts. If I was moving from Miami and wanted a city that could give the same nightlife experience and at a better cost, i'd probably go with Chicago. Actually I think almost any place is cheaper then Miami besides NYC.
