If you live in the Bluegrass region (*Bluegrass Region counties: Anderson, Bourbon, Boyle, Clark, Fayette, Franklin, Garrard, Harrison, Jessamine, Lincoln, Madison, Mercer, Nicholas, Scott, Woodford), then get ready for Take Pride in the Bluegrass! It will be May 10-18.

If you're not familiar with it, it is basically a time to act like a tourist in your own town and take advantage of lots of free admissions, discounts, and special events just for local residents - everything from special horse farm tours, free tastings at local wineries, and even hotel discounts.

It is a great time to really just experience a lot of great local activities that you might have missed or forgotten about. They have a lot of information about it here: Lexington, Kentucky Convention and Visitors Bureau (broken link)

Thanks Missy - and it looks like Louisville's is open to any KY resident. I just forwarded the info to some friends who are visiting the zoo then.
