I just received a great little newspaper this morning on my door step (well driveway really heheheeh) for free. It is called the News and Neighbor. There is a web address as well: Welcome to the Johnson City News & Neighbor Online Edition!
It is a free paper that you used to be able to pick up in front of grocery stores and such that is now being delivered to all homes in Johnson City. It is really nice, especially for those looking to move into this area. It is all about the people and what is going on in the area event wise and such. You can go to the download section to see the whole paper and past ones as well.

I agree, for a free newspaper, the News and Neighbor is great. The stories are well written and are often on topics that are neglected in the larger newspapers. When I moved to Johnson City, it was nice to see a community newspaper such as the News and Neighbor. Thanks for the web link mbmouse, I had not been able to receive the paper recently since I have moved from Johnson City to Jonesborough and did not know about the website.

I used to get it in the mail, but heard that it was costing too much so they were moving to door-to-door delivery in certain areas, and free pick up in stores, etc around the area. When I first moved to the area 3 years ago, I was told it was "the best paper" to advertise anything important - more people read it than any of the other papers in the tri-cities - especially when it was delivered with the mail.
