I haven't been to the eye doctor since we moved here 18 months ago. I'm about out of my contacts, so I need to go, but I guess it is time for a check up anyway.

I was just wondering if anyone could recommend someone good. I don't have any special needs, just someone good that doesn't make you wait for hours. If it was someone that also does children that would be a plus!

Thanks for any input...I hate to choose a doctor blindly (ha, ha!)

well, I'm looking for a good one too, but I can tell you (if you need multifocal lenses) - don't go to Doctor's Value Vision, on State of Franklin. About 3 months ago I had an exam and ordered no-line bifocals. They weren't ready when promised; they told me it would take another week & a half. That was ok. Then on the day they were supposed to be in, I called & was told "no they're not in & we can't say when they'll be ready". Said they couldn't get an answer from the lab. I arranged to get a copy of my prescription & a refund, and when I showed up in the store, my new glasses were miraculously ready!

I did take the glasses, because 1. I liked the frame and 2. they were there. I've been happy with them so far, but it just seemed like way too much confusion, and was unnecessary (I worked for an ophthalmologist somewhere else for 8 years previously). But I won't be back. Found out later that two other women in my office had similar problems last year...

Default Thanks!

Thanks for the input....and I'm sorry about the typo in the title of my original post (I put "cannot" instead of "can"). I tried to edit it but could not figure out a way to do it. That's what I get when my two year old is helping me type I guess!

I will steer clear of there.....I hate to have an extra work to get a pair of glasses or contacts!

Sorry to hear about our experience...that is SO frustrating....

Go to Armstrong or Bradley in Bristol - about a mile east from the Bristol hospital on Hwy 11W.

I have had both. Armstrongs personality is quite dry (very lacking in small talk/conversation), but is a good doctor. I have Bradley now and he is good. Takes awhile to get in to see them though.
