MSHA backs out of land swap
By Brad Hicks and Heather Richardson

MSHA, Johnson City and Washington County have been involved in discussions about the land and building swap since March 2008. MSHA has given deadlines and extensions to those deadlines for closing dating back to December.

“It is unfortunate that the residents of Washington County, including Johnson City, will not have the benefit of the expanded space and future growth opportunity that the Princeton Road property affords the health department,” Vonderfecht said.

Jaynes said that while he was disappointed that things have not worked out, he understands MSHA’s position.

“They have worked excellent with us and have tried to help us any way they could,” Jaynes said.

Well, Ms. Myron you had a year and a half to work it out.

Saw that in the paper. Johnson City wins again. Evidently the government of JC doesn't realize that the people who live in the city are also county residents who use the Health Department.
