Jabogitlu, Your absolutely correct as far as it's dangerous to be going how slow down the interstate. I was even overwhelmed by 26 between 81 and the tail end of JC. The Tennessee Highway Patrol seems to watch that pretty thick, too! Any ways I'd call someone in if they're only going 45 in the fast lane. Not only is that illegal it's dangerous and can cause road rage. That person could be charged with impeding the flow of traffic.

I think 26 is awesome south of JC.

Josh, what do you mean you were overwhelmed by 26?

If it's an emergency, they should be using emergency flashers, and If I'm going the speed limit, I'll use the most convenient lane for me. I'll also admit to slowing down when someone is on my tail.

When I was there back in May, the amount of traffic around 81 and 26 was just overwhelming. Sooo many cars et cetera. I just felt like everyone was in a hurry. I prefered 26 south of JC as things seem to dwindle down a bit.

Wow. I learned to drive on the Knoxville interstate system, so I-26 seems like a pie to me. (Of course, conversely, Nashville feels a bit hurried and driving in California was downright scary! LOL!)

Ha, when I came down this year I came down via IL and western Kentucky I had to travel through Nashville and I couldn't believe at some points there as 5-6 lanes wide on I-40, that's nuts!

Sorry to add, yet again, my northern/yankee perspective here but we have no 70 mph roads in Maryland. NONE!!!! So try and enjoy it as much as I do...each and every time I drive on 26.

I have sent digital photos back home to MD of the 70 mph road signs here in TN and...they can't believe that any government would be so wreckless and free as to allow a 70 mph road.

They also don't know what fireworks are either since you can only buy 'sparklers' so when I send "some of the good stuff" as we might say here locally back north they totally freak out. They can not believe that we allow things like bottle rockets, roman candles, M-88s, etc. so forth. Many people in Maryland under the age of 40 have never seen a real "firework". They're clueless on many such personal freedoms you all take for granted.
