Hi, everyone! I've been a longtime lurker but now that our move looks definite I am here with some questions!

My dh is currently a teacher, but principal certified. We will be relocating from TX and he is hoping to find a vice-principal position but may have to take a teaching position.

I've looked around on area ISD's websites for salary info but alot of them don't post it (that I could find atleast).

If anyone could give me an idea of what salary range he would receive for teaching and/or for vice-principals we'd really appreciate it!

Also, we're curious about benefits. I know the schools cover a portion of the cost. For a family plan, can anyone give me an idea of what our share would be monthly?

One more question Would we be able to find a nice home/nice neighborhood in the $150K-$175K price range? We're just looking for an average 3 bdr/2ba (although we'd love a walk-out basement) home.

Thank you in advance! We are getting very excited about our move - not until the summer, but still excited!

Liz

I know that in JC Schools the starting salary for someone with at Master's Degree and no experience is around $39,000 (it increases somewhat for each year taught). I would assume the county schools are less (they usually are). I think JC schools are the only ones that post their salary scale. I could be wrong though.

I have no idea about the benefits, but this site lists all the salaries that are paid with any portion of tax monies. Remember, you won't see how long they have been in these positions nor their education level from this site. However it will give you somewhat of an idea what maybe out there pay wise. You can play around with the site choosing different areas and positions within the schools by using the drop down boxes and such.
Salaries - TriCities.com (http://cfapps.mgnetwork.com/LocalApps/mgn/imd/pay/index.cfm - broken link)
Hope that helps!
