I was reading on CNN that in the I-26 closure, traffic was stopped for so long that multiple vehicles actually ran out of gas! Not sure if that was for the jackknife near Asheville, or if it was for the closure near JC...

There was a jackknifed truck....hubby said he saw 2?......between Boone's Creek and Eastern Star exits that caused all the mess hubby was in last night. I know they closed I-26 between NC and Erwin last night around 5:00pm but I thought it was due to snow and road conditions but it could have been another truck jackknifed? Not sure if the local news will tell us or not.
Hubby told me this one couple came into the hotel lobby with twin 11 week old babies looking for shelter, they were told there were no rooms. A wonderful couple who was checking in at the time gave up their room to these parents. He said there were so many people that walked off the highway in the snow storm with little kids and into that hotel....imagine how many other stories there are? I sure hope everyone has made it home or at least to somewhere safe and warm by now. We are supposed to be getting more snow this afternoon.

I went to Wal-Mart for Snow Chains today since I'm going to be making a trek up to Maryland tomorrow. I managed to (barely) make it back before I slid my Integra onto my lawn and got it stuck there The snow plow came by 10 min later. My timing never works out!!

I must say though everyone I have encountered out driving today has been doing it responsibly, taking it slow and showing courtesy to other drivers. It must be the holiday season
