Hello all...I'm thinking about flying up to look at a house on the
west side of JC. It's in the Carter Crossing subdivision, off
W. Walnut about mid-way between ETSU and Jonesborough.
Is anyone out there familiar with the neighborhood?...
any input would be appreciated.

I've driven by Carter Crossing but have never been in the subdivision itself. Most of the approx. 190 homes there were built in the '80s and are small (under 1500 sq. ft.), with appraised values averaging about 110-115K. One thing I really like about the area is the location: it's an easy walk to Willow Springs Park and downtown Jonesborough is only 4 miles away.

You can take a virtual tour of all the streets in Carter Crossing (primary ones are Todd Dr., Michael Dr., Dusty Dr., and Glen Echo Rd.) using Google Maps' Street View function.

I've never been in there, but I'll second that it's a good location and a safe area. Willow Springs Park is my favorite neighborhood park in Johnson City (I used to live in Antioch ). Other than that, I don't know much of anything...

I will third that that is a very pretty/nice/primarily safe area. I LOVE the views of the mountains along that drive.
