We are going to Gatlinburg this weekend. My better half wants to go to bass pro shops and I figured if we are going to be that close, maybe we can make a day of it.

The only times I have been there have been with the kids and they had to do all the "kid tourist" things.

So for the silly question.......Other than the shops and Ripley's, what is there to do or see?

Thanks!

Check out the aerial tram. It is a great experience. Just beautiful and fun after you get to the top of the mountain:

Yep, the shops, Ripley's stuff, restaurants and Ober, that's Gat. Have you been to the Aquarium? I'd probably go into the mountains, the views aren't great but the nature is. Bass Pro is what, about 30 min away....you could spend a day up there, go to Chop House (I do NOT recommend the restaurant at Bass Pro) and/or Smoky Mtn Wings, there are all sorts of shops along 66 to explore....especially Smoky Mtn Knifeworks and the flea market. Smoky Mtn Pizza is good stuff!

Smoky Mountain Wings is a really great place to eat... IMO. Their burgers are to die for. Outta all the places to get a burger at in Sevier County, that is the best here (again my opinion) and great prices. I would go to Bass Pro Shop first when you come into town cause there isn't that much to do on that end of the town. They are trying to make it the new Pigeon Forge, but later in the future. In town go to WonderWorks. It's a fun place to go even as adults. The new OpryLand is open with a little fairground there. Go to some of the acrobat shows (One is on Collier Drive and the other is beside Hardy's in Sevierville).
