I recently found out that i will be working in Oak Ridge TN. I am 22 yr old single male professional looking for a reasonably priced apartment (prefer under 700/month for 1 bedroom or studio). I would like a close commute but am willing to drive 25 minutes or so. I would like an apartment with a chance to meet people my age and near some nightlife if possible. Also any help on what area I should be looking in. Thanks

You will probably have to give up some of those. $700 budget may be a place you won't want to live, or the commute will be over the 25 minutes.
The nightlife thing is probably not going to meet your expectations in Oak Ridge.

Good to hear. Up your budget and go to West Knoxville.

I saw a sandwich board a couple weeks ago on the sidewalk of Gay St across from Chavo's that had an apartment for $900. Talk about being int he heart of nightlife.

If you are looking for an apartment complex with a pool and community activities look west. Study the traffic during your commuting time to find a complex with easy access to the interstate. There are bars/restaurants all down Kingston Pike.

If you want more neighborhood character look at Happy Holler which is a district on Central accessed by Baxter ave. Plenty of bars that cater to young people and I expect you could find an apartment in a converted house for your budget. In this case you'd have the option to use Clinton Hwy to get to Oak Ridge. Depending on traffic it could be a tiny bit quicker.
