The best place I have found is VRBO.com (Vacation Rentals By Owner) I haven't used them for the mountains but I know of others that have and they were very happy! (The site is great for beach vacations also!)
Good luck and hope you find a great place!

Mount Leconte? You do know that you have to hike up the mountain (about 6 miles) to get there, right?

It is. Closes sometime in November and opens sometime in March. I have no idea why I know this, since I could never climb that mountain with the shape that I am in.

Try tripadvisor. Get on their forum and ask. Super good advice!
