Well, concievedinky51, that puts you at about 56 years young, and pricing in the low 100s, will put you in many places. The Cumberland Heights area, several places in South Knoxville, and some as well in North Knoxville. Many areas to choose from, if your looking in the 150 range, so give us more information, and we can all help much better.

Which areas would be nice for a retired single woman, do you think? I would like a townhouse that's kind of close into the city itself w/ good transportantion and all if possible . I would be able to purchase something in the $250 K range.

You could get a nice apartment downtown for 250k. A brownstone/townhouse would run you about 340k downtown.

"Kind of close to downtown" could also put you in the Bearden area, which abounds with townhouses. Check Pembrookeshire on Dick Lonas, Heather Court on Sutherland, Traditional Dr. off Wesley. Heather Court has good access to bus stops and in walking distance to Kroger and Earth Fare.

Thanks , that narrows things down a little. It's so hard to imagine what places are like when you are so far away. Would you know if there are any townhome developments that cater to retirees (over 55s)?
