On our trip, we visited tons of places, mostly just driving around trying to choose a community that suited us the best (Kingston won).

We visited Roane County (Kingston, Rockwood, Harriman, Oak Ridge), Loudon County (Lenoir City, Loudon), Anderson County (Oak Ridge, Oliver Springs, Clinton), Knox County (Knoxville, Fountain City, Powell, Halls Crossroads), and Union County (Maynardville).

We also took some pictures in Crossville/Fairfield Glade (Cumberland Cty), Cookeville ( JMT, sorry I only got a few and my camera's batteries died), and Nashville (flew into Nashville rather than Knox--tix were about half the price).

I took a ton of pictures (about 2,000) and they're all posted in these albums. They may be useful and/or interesting to you, or they may be worthless, depending on what you're looking for.

We took very few "tourist" pictures because our main interest was getting a feel for the communities. In fact, I'm not sure we visited any tourist sites...nope, we didn't. Maybe next trip!

Corrections are welcome--I'm sure I've made plenty of location errors in here. Some say things like "Horizon Center West Knox from Oak Ridge". This means we were headed toward West Knox from Oak Ridge--not that every picture contains West Knox in it.

Once in the album, if you're interested in the file name (most are just named by the location and a chronological number, but there are some that have relevant information in the file name), click on a picture and just look to the right and click on "more info". I believe this setting remains at least for the duration of that album.

I've only gone through the Knox County pics and I'm exhausted!

Clearly, you took those photos to help people out. Tremendous job.

Thank you so much for taking the time to photograph and share all your pictures. As someone who is trying to decide where to move in TN, you have given me a clearer idea of what some towns look like. Thank you again.

Thumbs up What a wonderful photo library of beautiful E. TN. Thank you, bbk!

What great pictures, bbkaren! I must admit that it took me a while to see all of them. You do a wonderful photo tour and really have shown each area as they really are.

It looks like you take photos the same way that I do - hanging out of the passenger window! However, that is where the similarity ends. I have a great talent for including our side view mirror right in the middle of every picture I take!

So, if I ever post any "good" pictures, you will know that my DH was the actual photographer and not me, sadly.

Glad you enjoyed! I know it was really repetitive, but I just kept "clickin'...and clickin'..."

I did try to eliminate as many "over the car roof" shots that actually consisted of, well, the roof of the car with just a sliver of the original subject matter at the top...but I was pretty good at keeping the side view mirror out of the pics, mainly because that's what I rested my hand on.

I was looking through them last night, in fact, and there's a lot of duplicity and not-so-great shots, but with the thousands that I took, I'd still be sorting through them if I were to start filtering out the bad ones lol!

Nice photos!

Was looking through the Loudon county photos. It amazes me that the dirty part of Lenoir City has not changed that much.

Those pics (and this thread) are from four years ago.

Thanks JMT. I realize that this thread was made years ago. The OP recently posted a link to this thread.
