Hello,
I have seen so much information about relocation to Las Cruces that includes; rentals, shopping, transportation and relatively mild weather.
I have not seen anything about employment in my field; early childhood education.
I currentlly live in San Diego, CA and I have hopes that if my 10-15 day visit (to Las Cruces in December) goes well I may begin planning a permanent move.
But while my main concern is my severe asthma; 40% lung function.
My second concern is employment. I do check Craigslist but have fouind nothing that would encourage me.
Any assistance or suggestions would be most helpful.

Thank you for your time,

I doubt you will have any problems finding employment. However, don't expect to find your type of occupation listed on Craigslist. The area employers definitely seek out locals; as such, you need to get in touch with the central office/education in Las Cruces & take a look at the job postings there (HR). Not sure if those are online anywhere, but I am fairly certain they're not on CL.
As far as the asthma, LC gets pretty windy, as it is now. As such, it also gets very dusty. Not that I'm trying to dissuade you, but yes, it's a good idea you come out & take a look. I myself love it here, but I don't share either of the concerns you mentioned. If you like peace, quiet, tranquility, no congestion, nice people, and good HOT food, you'll love it here

I've lived here for over a year, and also hold an early childhood education degree. I have not found employment as of yet. Although I will say that there are a TON of preschools here. I haven't been rushed into employment yet, so I haven't been too active either. I would say that these preschools don't advertise very much...early childhood education is pretty popular here. You would need to go to each preschool and talk to them. Oh, and one other factor is knowing spanish. If you speak spanish, you have better opportunities here.

Well, things have changed. I will not be moving to Las Cruces. But I am grateful for the input on this forum. I know where to find you if I need you.
