hey is the community of LC at all affected by the missile range? i heard about that one they lost control of.. does that happen much?

There are some tall mountains between Las Cruces and the missile range. Very unlikely for a mishap as you imagine.

The missile range is very big...mostly out in the middle of no where...

I think the range is about 140 miles long and 65 miles wide.

Never heard of that, I have lived in Alamo for 8 yrs and never heard of them losing one in LC. I wouldn't worry about that

There are many safe guards.. so don't worry. If you really need to worry about something, worry that were Number 3 on the hit list for a nuke attack. =)

Well, there was that experimental craft some years ago that got outta control and crashed....ended up down near Roswell, as I recall.
I think they kept it kinda quiet.

Seriously....The WSMR is great for LC and all of South New Mexico. The various facilities provide good paying jobs, both for professionals and your basic worker. It brings in many, many millions of dollars and the drawbacks are very few. What's not to like?
