Do people rent apt's in their homes in LC? Are mostly in a complex? I got a brochure and a lot are on Roadrunner. I just want a safe and clean place to call home for a year or two then plan on buying. Any info on where to look for rentals? Thanks.

Do you mean rent rooms? Some properties have multiple units with actual separate apartments with separate entrances and no connecting doors to any other residence on the property.

Most are in complexes.

Are you open to regular apartments in complexes?

Are you just looking for a room in a house?

It would be wise to just come and stay in an extended-stay hotel/motel for a week and then look around for places that look good to you.

Yes, I think you are right. I'm trying to come out next week. I heard from a realtor and she recommended anything on Roadrunner would be good. Can you suggest a good hotel or motel? Thanks

Check both craigslist and the weekly American Classifieds newspaper. Both always have lots of rentals listed and most are non-commercial. You might get lucky and find a cute little casita or guesthouse situated on someone's property.
