I like strolling down glitter gulch bouncing off the drunks and other a-hole tourists like me. Well I'm more like a regular after 30 years. LOL

Freemont st is a plus to vegas. Prices are good entertainment great and the casinos doing business as they should. It is great to see families enjoying the area and next trip to vegas I will be staying there. Sick and tired of the over price food on the strip, having to have a road map to nevagate through the casinos and getting riped off by cab drivers. The experience is fun to watch and take pictures of. Hats off the Freemont ST.

Have them and yes the hotels have them bad too, they just cover it up.

Here is a perfect example of them covering up.

Hubby and I went to Laughlin, stayed in a newly renovated hotel. I will not name the hotel. ANYWHERE we stay, we always check the beds. Everyone needs to do that, do not even take your bags inside the room until you have checked the room.

This particular time, Dan almost did not check, we have stayed at this hotel several times over the last few months, but luckily he did. We did find about 10 to 12 Bed Bugs one one bed, and a couple on the other bed. You could tell that there was a bad problem, because there was Bed Bug feces around the head board. But it did look like that had treated the room, but did not get rid of them totally before re-renting the room. The hotel staff probably did not realize that the feces was what it was or they would have cleaned it up.

We called security and they came and took down the complaint, and then took us to the front desk to switch out our room. I made sure when the assistant manager came up to speak with us, not to mention the bugs. Being in the industry, we know that the Bed bugs are easy to get, and theses bugs were actually on the bed right at the edge or the bed skirt, so they were not easily seen. The lady at the front desk was actually very rude, never once said sorry. Kinda got an attitude with us when my husband asked that we be moved at least two floors above or below the floor where the bugs were located.

I actually was not upset about the bugs, but was upset with the attitude of the manager. I wrote a review on Expedia, which is where I booked the hotel through, and you know what? It never showed up, but reviews before and after mine have showed up. Seems fishy to me. There are bad reviews on the hotels, but nothing that bad.

I wrote a letter to the General Manager, and they have offered us two free nights, which I will probably use, because I do like the hotel, but will make sure to check our room.

The problem is really bad. I have had quite a few people come home from vacation and they get them, or have someone stay over that has them. I even have people that have gotten them from work.

The biggest problem is that some companies charge so much money for the treatment. I have heard of companies charging like $1200 per room in the home. Yes, it is quite a bit more for the treatment, but that is just robbing people in my eyes. But they do it because they can, they put fear into people. But when people call and get that amount, it scares them, and most people can not even afford half of that. So then they live with it, and in the mean time spread the problem to so many other people.

I cannot believe the strip was not chosen. Freemont street is a dump IMO and pails in comparison to the strip on all levels.

I do not consider the opinion of anyone that doesnt know that it is FREMONT [so named for explorer John C. Fremont] There is NOTHING FREE on FREMONT.

Once again it is FREMONT and not freemont Street...

The Irish dude is to be forgiven his transgressions because he's....well he's ...Irish....

METRO needs to come out and do another house cleaning on FSE really soon.. This new Jamaican gang presence on FSE is bad for business downtown.

Thanks, I appreciate that. Quite pleased you two got a kick out of it and can relate in your own experience. Apparently a very common trend around here, really.

And you do gotta love entertaining those friends, don't ya? Sure, on occasion they'll be embarrassing or even unnerving, but most of the time it's just too amusing to let any negative emotional reaction hold sway. We're all late 20s/early 30s, but frankly, I agree with those who assert that 'immature' is just a word boring folks use to describe fun folks. And 'class' is just a word shallow people use to flatter themselves. Ultimately, enjoying an opportunity to genuinely (i.e., not superficially) loosen up certainly is better when your hosts, entertainers, fellow revelers, and fellow sight-seers are in the same spirit.

Salute, Fremont!!!!!!

I always find it sublimely ironic when people try to make a point about why it's bad to label people or behavior (immature), and in doing so, have no problem using insulting terms for others (snobby, boring, shallow).
