That is great, calling out olecapt....Look in the paper today, plenty of jobs...The new hotel at LLV is hiring soon and so are plenty of other places. People are going to have to come down to lesser paying jobs for a couple of years till things get better. Did you read the article from the Sun Saturday about what the economists are saying about a come abck. All agree there will be one, about half said starting in 2012, coming back strong. Even Wynns chief financial guy said starting next year, slowly then jumping back in 2012. Who knows who to listen too, but most of it sounded good...I know a lot of people would be happy to have it slow for awhile to get back to the way it was before the boom

People cannot just decide to go to lower paying jobs. The employer will see that you have no experience in the lower paying job or say you are overqualified for the job. You probably will not even be called to an interview.

As someone who works in social work, I take issue with this comment. So if I'm interpreting you correctly, you're saying that people who can't do anything help others. If this is true, can you please explain to me why there seems to always be a shortage of people to work in this industry when we have so many people who seemingly can't even wipe their own butt or tie their shoe. And whatever you do please don't assign generalizations based on Fallout's behavior. If Fallout even does work in this field he has certainly become burnt out.

I do apologize. I am sure there are a lot of survivalist social workers. I have not however come acrosss very many.

It is in general a job that is a calling to a few...who have a fierce vocation. Unfortunately the vast majority are putting in the time until they can retire.

That may not be how you (or I)would like it but that is how it is. I would much rather deal with the people in zoning and planning than with those in social depts. I don't want to rub it in but that is how it is.

And a survivalist? You got to be kidding.

mod interpose: Thread closed. We had to remove too many attacking posts. You've made your point, vegaspimp. You've pointed out that Las Vegas has the highest unemployment in the U.S. and there are no jobs to be obtained. You've voiced your opinion how you see the situation through your eyes. Now it's time to let the readers of this thread determine for themselves what the truth really is. Everybody has to do their own research. They have to read everybody's opinion and come to their own conclusion. Let's move on.
