I will be headed to Las Vegas around Thanksgiving. Can anyone tell me what to expect weather wise? Should I pack a jacket or shorts? Thanks!

Depends,

By that time of year I will definately be wearing a jacket at night (usually). During the day, long sleeve shirt and jeans should be ok.

Check the Weather Network a week in advance to be safe.

Pack both. Vegas can be very nice to very blustery at that time of the year.

Obviously we can't tell this far out how it's going to be but it don't get too cold here. I'd say it will be in the 50's-60's. The problem is the wind, as I said it get's blustery.

I pulled up McCarran's climotology table for a quick look to give you a heads up on the "norm" temps.
Average Temp: 54°F
Avg Max: 67°F
Avg Min: 45°F
Record High: 87°F
Record Low: 21°F

Usually rains 2 days out of the month.

Below is a "better than weather channel" site that's pretty good with their forecasts. Like rentmax said, Check about a week out for an idea...for an even more accurate assesment check 48hours out. We usually have a pretty good idea by then.
National Weather Service / Las Vegas

Enjoy your stay!

It is crazy there, pack everything...it can be upto 70 during the day, and go down to 50 at night, or cooler...take jeans, a warm jacket, comfy shoes, but that time of year, too chilly for swimming, shorts...maybe...not for me, I would wear jeans...but, I am a Vegas person, so anything below 80 is chilly to me...

Pools won't be open and the only people in shorts are sort of doing it just so they can say they were wearing shorts at that time of year. Jacket will come in handy at night and you might need it during the day too.

My kid wears shorts and hoodies. Rentmax is correct. You'll be comfortable in long sleeves and jeans. If it happens to be warm, put on that souvenir t-shirt that you know you're gonna buy.

It most likely will be sunny but you will feel a definite chill in the air. People are often surprised by how cold it is. If the wind is blowing, which is often, it's can be quite chilly!

It just might be really nice and warm. So.....bring a couple long sleeved things, short sleeves, pants, shorts, and a light jacket!
