Stations used to have a senior slot tourney every Wed. and the most you could play was 3 sessions in one day. Then the person with the highest score would get $1000. cash. They also had 2nd chance drawings in the afternood of the people who played in the tourney, and those would be for $500, $400, $250.. then at the end of each month all the senior throughout the Stations casinos would go into a drawing for a big prize. sometimes it was a cruise for 2, furniture at RC Wiley, jewelry, but always something nice.

Well, all the drawings were stopped in Oct last year. then on Jan 26 we were told that it was our last slot tourney day. and that Stations was coming out with some new and improved programs we seniors are really going to like in Feb...
Well after not seeing anything advertised, and Stations won't respond to my emails, or phone messages as to what are the new programs... I finally got a rewards rep to spill last night..

They have elimated the senior programs.. and are doing programs that bennefit all people. Such as the 220 car give-away..

Ok,, We all know that the computer generated drawings seem to only draw out the black, purple, and silver cards. Very very very rarely does a gold card member win any type of drawings. So how does that bennefit everyone?

I've haven't been out there for a while, but do they still have the point multiplier and 1/2 price meals for seniors on Wednesdays?

The other thing I don't understand regarding their former programs is how in the heck could you stand to be in a casino all day waiting for their various "great" programs to start? I went in there one Wednesday morning and met someone for a nice breakfast in their coffee shop, perused the buffet that had seniors waiting in long lines and discovered it was basically "quantity not qualtity" and instead enjoyed a quality breakfast for less money and was in and out. Then we did some other things and noticed the same seniors still there; either bored out of their minds or dumping money into machines to kill the time.

Might have thought that to be true, but I hit for $1,000. at Red Rock in the drawing on New Years Day, and I only have a Gold Card.

Station Casinos has recently gone through changes on the corporate level. Frankly, they almost went out of business if not for some shrewd manuevering by the Fertittas. They are currently running reduced priced buffets across the board. IE. Two dinners at the GVR will only run $23.99. They still have the jumbo reel cash bonus promotion going. I think when comparing Stations to the other casinos, in spite of making changes to some of their promotions, they are still one of the best values around. The deals we used to take for granted five and ten years ago are gone forever.

They must not have seen the value in the offer so they stopped. There are a lot of Senior Wednesdays around town. Try somewhjere else. They also stopped VP Thursday so I stopped playing Thursdays.

You can go, or not. They offer what they offer.

For me, the drawings mean nothing. They are always at 8:15 weekend nights when I am at work.

Strange though, because they just built a whole slot tournament area at Boulder where the DQ used to be.

As the baby-boomers enter retirement and the senior citizenry swells, it was determined to be too costly having to provide depends for the tournament.

End of story.
