So I have an interview tomorrow at 11 am. I plan on wearing my button down shirt and tie and black dress pants. Would a suit be better?

I also have letters of recommendation from both Vons and Publix managers. Should I bring those?

Should I bring my resume too?

You can never overdress for an interview. Have copies of your resume ready and take the opportunity to hand one out with the recruiter before the interview even starts. After the interview, get a business card from the recruiter. Good luck Davie.

Wear a suit and it shows them you're serious about the job. It's amazing how many people don't dress to anywhere near the level of the job during an interview.

If you wear a suit, they're not likely to say, "He dressed up too much for the interview." If you don't, it's possible they could say, "He didn't dress up enough for the interview." And that could be their lasting memory of your interview.

Err on the side of caution. And good luck.

I was recruiting for my company at a job fair once and an applicant showed up in a T-shirt, jeans with a hole in them and sandals. He was interested in a management position. I sent him on his way in about two seconds.

As the previous poster said, your appearance is often what the interviewer will remember. Give them something positive to remember you by, something that makes you stand out from the crowd.

I think you'll be fine in a dress shirt, tie, slacks for a - what I'm assuming is - an entry level position. I think being well groomed, being comfortable, and asking the right questions is more important than a suit.

I tend to agree with Aggrofish. It's certainly not like you are appearing like a slouch in a dress shirt, tie and slacks and appearing in a suit for an entry level position may give the recruiter the impression you are pompous and full of yourself and impossible to lead and take directions. Firm handshake, great smile, good eye contact, intelligent question asking.........

do not wear a suit! what is the position.. ? this is the audition, not one on one... so there will not be a recruiter.. there will be 3 individuals evaluating you...

Sorry, I have to vote for the suit. Nothing goes over better than a polite, well spoken, confident interviewee dressed in a suit. Just don't act OVERconfident. Whatever you do, DO NOT wear any club attire. Make sure your shirt, tie, and shoes are business style, not Saturday night club style. Make sure you are well groomed, clean nails, shaved, and easy on the cologne.
Oh, and Good Luck!

Just saw the positions.. no suit and tie... dress pants, dress shirt.. tie optional ( i did the black t with black/grey dress shirt over it - )... nothing plain... no WHITE OR BLUE... emphasize some purple would be a plus.... you do not need the resume yet, they won't be looking.. when you go in , from the time you get there to in the audition... do not keep quiet! they will not consider a loner! have 3 things ready that you can bring to the Cosmopolitan....NEVER EVER EVER CALL IT THE COSMO!
