Looking for a gun store where I can try several types of handguns. Looking to get a good fit for my wife. Any recommendations?

I'm a fan of American Shooters as they have a range and you can rent the handguns as well as just finger them. Discount Firearms also has a range. If you're just looking to hold them New Frontier Armory in North Las Vegas and Lock and Load in Henderson are good shops with decent selection.

Any particular firearm you have your eye on? After checking out a few pocket pistols my wife decided she wants a Walther PPS for CCW although she loves my HK P30 for target shooting.

Thanks Daddys. Looking at Beretta PX4 and Sig P220.....but want eyes / hands on before buying. Needs to serve dual use - CC for me and home comfort for the wife.

I like Discount Firearms. They don't have a great selection for rentals, but if you/she just wants to see how it fits and not fire it, they'll likely have the models you're interested in.

Sig, Beretta, HK...all nice guns. I'd love to get both a Sig and HK down the road, but I have to tell you that I feel pretty safe knowing all the girl has to do is reach in the dresser drawer, hers not mine, and point and shoot. In other words, glock. Yes, I've taken her out shooting many times and I like knowing that if/when the zombies attack she is comfortable. IMO the safety is just one more thing to have to think about in the heat of the moment and it's unneccesary.

I hear great things about both guns, particularly the PX4 being extremely comfortable albeit a bit less than handsome.

Actually both the P30 and the PPS have no manual safety although the P30 is now available with an ambidextrous manual safety. I had a Glock 22 but neither of us liked it as it felt similar to holding a brick, imho.

Don't forget to check out the lightweight S&W snubnose 38s. Very lightweight, just pull the trigger and in case of a misfire, just pull the trigger again--no need to pull back the slide to jack out a bad round. Some will argue that they are only five rounds, and only 38, but really, a bad guy doesn't want to be hit by a 38 anymore than a 9mm or 380.
