John, for reasons you mentioned, if I were buying a handgun for a woman to use for self defense it would be a revolver. No need to chamber a round or work a safety in a high stress situation. Point and shoot.

I hear the USP full size is a huge brick compared to the P30 or even the HK45. The only complaint I have about the P30 is that there are no commercially available threaded barrels available as I would love a Gemtech Blackout for it.

You named it yourself. The Gun Store on Trop, east of the strip. Touristy as hell but they had a very good selection of rental guns last time I was there. I tried one or two others as rental ranges, but they had no where near the selection of rental guns.
