This can only end up bad for you LVD, and you know that.

usually for a marker all they need is a bank account information and a little research. they will assign a value based on what they find on your credit and bank account. you could really just show up to the casino with a blank check if you wanted.

Better yet....why don't you use just half...$5K to gamble with and hold the rest in case the $5K is lost. In other words, gamble like you have $10K in your pocket but use $5K as your stop gap measure. If you're way ahead after $5K, then take the money and run to your new residence. If not, then re-evaluate if you want to take the risk and go on.

Either way, mentally prepare for the $5K (or $10K)loss. That way, if it happens, you won't let it destroy you. And if it doesn't happen (and you win)...you're golden.

Good luck.

So take a cab. You sound like you can afford it.

you can do a front money account... i would not put that much money in it.... if you want a credit line, they will check credit etc...

i don't know of any casino corp (harrahs example) that will let you gamble at your choice of casinos will the same front money account.. that would drive the marker bank insane...

a marker is treated as a check.. it gets deposited usually after 30 days... if its deposited and you don't have the money to clear = bad check... if you don't pay the bad check = da's office

You can also check into getting a safe deposit box at the casino cage. That way you can put in or take out money when you want to and not have to carry it. Most places don't like to tie them up for a long time, but if you're a frequent gambler they may make an exception. Good luck!

I would not gamble right now. The economy is hurting and you will be even less likely to win something. With 10,000 dollars you could almost add an additional 270 to your monthly rental cost for 3 years, or 400 more for 2 years. Or heaven forbid...keep saving it so you can have even more options later.

Here is what I would like to do. I would like to set an account (like a bank) at either MGM Grand or Harrah's. I would like to deposit $10,000.

1. I would like it to be available at all MGM or Harrah's properties depending which one I choose. I do not like playing in just one casino all the time.

2. I have heard of casino markers, but they are loans from what I hear. I would not qualify for that but would still like the same privledges as in not having to carry cash on me.

Is this possible and if so what is this called?
LVD, I have never met you, but just from your posts I KNOW you are smarter than this. Take a couple of thousand, have a big night, get it out of your system, and use the money to better your life somehow.

Every casino I have ever been to has an ATM. If you don't want to deposit money in your bank account, you can get a pre-paid credit card and load it up (up to $10,000 I believe). Then you can just go to the ATM and withdraw your money.

That would be the easiest approach, I would think.
