We're considering a place there to spend December thru April. It's in the Lakes, near Fort Apache.

Anyone have any insight into this complex? Nearby shopping, casinos, parks, eateries?

Any input would be appreciated.

Sorry, no. The general Lakes area is nice. Ft. Apache/Sahara area has a lot of local shopping around. There's a lot of casual dining on Sahara, and a bunch more the next major street up on Charleston. Short drive to Red Rock Canyon, which our family loves. About 20-25 minutes to the Strip, depending on traffic. We live just a little further west, off Sahara and Hualipai (sorry, I butchered the spelling on that). We love the area.

The neighborhood is just fine. A very nice area.

For the place see...

Wellington Meadows Apartment Ratings, Reviews, Map, Rents, and other Las Vegas apartments for rent from ApartmentRatings.com

That is probably the best review I have ever seen for an apartment complex. I don't like to opine on them as it is so sensitive to the management which often changes.

This one though has a great set of consistent reviews. So enjoy...

We just moved last month to the area. We are just a about mile from that complex. I don't know anything about the actual apartments but the area is lovely. You have Boca Park just a short distance away and they have website but I don't recall what it is. I am sure you can google it. Boca park has alot of nice resturants in the area, PF Changs, Cheesecake Factory for instance. There are an assortment of other chain resturants as well as an assortment of fine dining resturants. Red Rock Casino, Sun Coast Casino, and Rampart (formerly JW Marriott)Casino are just a short 5-10 minute drive from there. The Strip is probably 20-25 minutes away going down Sahara to the Stratosphere/Sahara casinos. You can take some back roads and get to the center of the Strip Mirage/Flamingo area in just abou as much time. Downtown Freemont Street is probably 30-35 minutes away. We enjoy going there sometimes...its a very interesting crowd. You are so close to Summerlin which has alot to offer. I think you will enjoy the area. There is a beautiful view of the mountains from the area. I just love it.

GOOD LUCK!

Thanks all for the feedback.

OleCapt, we used those ratings to really finalize our decision. It's pretty rare to have such solid ratings, since most people who bother to rate the apt. are complaining about something.

We will be moving into a unit there in early December and spending four months. Our first snowbird experience and we're really looking forward to the adventure.

Wordguy, i used to live in that area. It is close to everything and all within walking distance: library, shopping, banks, starbucks, restaurants, etc. And alot of traffic. But ignore that part.

Default What's happened at Wellinton Meadows?

I understand this complex was sold and that the former management was fired. Does anyone know where they went?
We did the snowbird thing for four winters there and REALLY enjoyed our experience. I'd like to contact some of the former managers, if anyone has any info, please advise.
Thanks!!!
